[Comment from the artist]

I am very happy to be able to hold the ICHIGEI OIL PAINTING SEVEN exhibition in Hiroshima. I would also like to express my sincere gratitude to everyone at L Gallery who helped me with this exhibition, and to my classmates in the Hiroshima City University Oil Painting Department who gladly accepted my humble request.

I have had exhibitions in many places in the 10 years since I left Hiroshima in 2006, and have had many experiences both professionally and personally. However, looking back, I think that my time in Hiroshima was the turning point of my life.

I wanted to study realistic painting, so I found a school that specialized in it, enrolled, and on the first day of the school orientation, a professor said to me, "Students who try to do realism are boring," which was a shocking comment from my professor, and that's how my graduate school life at Hiroshima City University began.
Here, I would like to introduce my classmates who made my hectic days in Hiroshima more fulfilling. Please note that some of the facts and thoughts may differ from the actual people, but please forgive me as this is merely my "image from memory." I hope that I have been able to convey at least a little of the atmosphere of the Hiroshima Municipal Studio at that time.
